500SL 1992 ASR problem
I'm Pom from Thailand and I just new here, I knew that the question I asked is just like everyone's problem about ASR. My case is the ASR light come one while I'm driving and will disapear when I restart the engine but after a while I reappear agian (sometimes not shown again).
I've read trough some topics about ASR problem, there are one suggestion from you to bridge pin 1 and 11, then 10 and 34 in ASR control unit. I wonder it can apply to my 1992 500SL or not.
Anybody has fixed these case before, please advise.
Thnx god we have this SITE!!!

RE: 500SL 1992 ASR problem
I assume you mean the ASR malfunction light comes on.
I'd suspect the OVP Over Voltage Protection relay.
Common to have bad joints/contacts which cause LOW voltage problems under vibration / temperature.
ASR circuit must be OK at startup since no light.
Fault (quite possibly LOW voltage) must "suddenly" appear but voltage must be OK again on restart. Power for ASR has to run thru the OVP relay.
Good luck.

ASR light come one while I'm driving
it can be as simple as a faulty wheel speed sensor.
compare their resistance values so you can know which witch is witch.
i don't recommend dis-abling the ASR. you pay extra for that option, and it may save your life.
