Yet another snow storm here in CT today (SO SICK OF WINTER and when I started my 1989 MB 300TE this morning, I didn't realize that the windshield wiper was on. I hadn't cleaned the snow off the windshield yet and went in for a cup of coffee. When I came back out and got in the car, there was a definite overheated electrical smell. I then realized the wiper was on and frozen to the windshield so I immediately shut it off (yeah, I know too late) and turned on the defrosters and proceeded to clean the rest of the snow off the car. Fortunately, the wiper motored and I figured I lucked out. Well, now I only have the low speed and it's very sluggish and slow at that. Is it safe to figure I burned up something in the wiper motor or is there a relay before the motor that regulates the speed?
