Default 300E will not start

wierd situation, can't figure this out, have a 300E that will only start after it's been sitting for a couple of days. Once it starts it will run for however long until it gets shut off, then if I try to start it again, it won't. It cranks just fine, just won't start again for a couple days. Getting fire to the plugs. New fuel distributor. Runs rich when it does start until it warms up. When it doesn't start the plugs look wet, but not dripping wet. Anyone have any suggestions that may help me to get this car running again?

I would suspect a fuel pump relay and/or fuel pump. I can't tell you for sure without looking at it.

All fuel components have been tested. All are working fine. Like I said, it's wierd. Could it possibly be the ignition module? Causing it to fire at the wrong time after car has been shut off and tried to be re-started? Maybe a reminder, it still will not start until it has sat for a period of time.

I would check the crankshaft position sensor, commonly referred to as a "green lead" though it should be black on this model. It is not overly common but I have had one or 2 on these. Typically the ignition module will be completely dead and not be an intermittent failure. I would check the cap/rotor for corrosion inside of it too. These will have problems with changes in temps and warmer months.
