Default 230TE suspension

Having just bought a 1990 230TE estate, whilst checking the rear brakes I found what appears to be a couple ofhydraulic pipes which seem tohave fed self levelling rear shocks. One of the pipe has rotted through, and the linkage from the control valve has been disconnected, would normal Kunifer brake pipe be sufficient to replace the Bundy pipe and are there any problems to look out for when reconnecting the system? Also is it possible to replace the self levelling system with normal shocks if the hydraulic units leak when re-connected? Any advice would be welcome.

www.strumaster.com has a conversion kit for self leveling to spring shocks for 1993-99 S class. Check the shock part number on your rear leveling system against a S class. They may work.
