2007 C class...........
Just signed on to this forum and realized I may have posted these questions in the wrong section so I'll post it here.
Currently drive an 02 BMW 325Ci however, am looking at the possability of an 07 Mercedes C230 with the Sport package.
BMW has a history of brakes needing to be replaced every 20,000 miles and that's fine when it's under warranty however, after the warranty runs out, it's approx. $1200 for both front and rear.
My question.......does Mercedes go through brakes that fast? What's the expected or average life of brakes on an MB? What does a front and rear brake job cost on an MB? Are there any other "costly" charictureristics of the MB on a regular basis, once it's out of warranty?
Thank you for your responses......I appreciate it.

I've owned a 97 C230 and an 02 C240. Both cars went in excess of 60,000 miles without needing brakes. These were mostly freeway miles, but did include stop-and-go traffic. If you drive agressively and brake hard, obviously your brakes are not going to last as long.

The BMW only has 62K miles and is on it's third set of brakes.
as an mb tech i seen c class last as long as 35k before first pad exchange that was the longest i saw
generally around 18- 25k gets the front pads of course all is dependant on the style of driving
and area your driving in person in hollywood hills, or pacific palisades may go through brakes faster then a person who lives and drives in orange county . remember that german engineering is that of performance high speed driving ,acceleration and stopping not of longjevity and cost effectivness mb owners want luxuary, performance above the cost !!!!
