My 2006 CLK 200 requires replacement of rear left trunk SAM according to MB. No surprise, they’ve quoted US$1,565/- for replacement. Online, there are plenty new/old ones available for $250-375. If I get it installed by a normal (not MB) mechanic, does it still require programming by MB? MB refuses to install 3rd party parts. Thanks for your help.

 

Hello and welcome to the forum! From what I've read, this is something that the dealer needs to program to make sure that the country is properly selected and matched to the vehicle.
