Just bought a 2002 SL500. Fantastic car, love it, all except one thing. The exhaust is so quiet you'd never know it has a V8. I would like to fit a performance exhaust such as a Brabus, AMG or Eisenmann, but can't afford it. I've heard it's possible to replace the rear silencers with a straight through pipe, presented under the bumper with a pair of dual pipes. Does anybody have any experience of this?
