Got this car after a tree fell on my 85 diesel. It's good except for a problem that happens when the engine is cold. Even in summer, if I drive off too quickly at the first hill it will lose all power and I'll have to pull over and wait. It really doesn't seem to be normal but rather a fuel or electrical problem. Any ideas? Also, generally it's pretty sluggish with often not much response when you hit the accelerator. Thank you!

 

yes, it's on. my mechanic couldn't figure it out but said it was usually the case that it was an emissions problem
