Default 1998 E300 TD Questions

I have a super awesome 98 E300 TD that I love - I'm having a couple of issues that I'm hoping to get a bit of help on.

1 - The driver's side of my heating / cooling system is stuck on cold. The passenger side works perfectly producing heat and air conditioning as it is supposed to. The driver's side electronics and display work as they should, but only produce cold air no matter what you adjust the temperature setting to. If you go from hi to lo on the adjuster on the driver's side you hear the system changing but the air produced continues to be ice cold. The EC vent works properly. I'm wondering if anyone has advice about what might be going on - if the problem is electrical, computer - control related, or mechanical in nature.

2- I'm getting "Charge Battery" and "Charging Battery" occasionally. This has happened three times so far over the past there months. The battery is one year old and belts are new - last time I checked the voltage output was over 13. Any Suggestions?

Thank you,

Mark

Default More Research

So, I've done a bunch of searching and have located some DIY resources related to the duovalve.

I'm going to take the duovalve out over the next day or two and take a look at the gaskets - orings in there.

Can anyone out there confirm or help rule out the duovalve as the potential cause of my problem which is climate controls working on passenger side but not on driver's side which is described in a bit more detail in my original post above.
