Default 1995 S420 sunroof problem

Does anyone have any advice on how to trouble shoot why the sunroof fuse will blow whenever power is applied? I have tried to remove the motor assembly from the trunk, but have only dissembled it without getting it off of the spiral cable (or whatever its called).
Thanks in advance,
Bruce

some ?????? where was the sunroof motor bolted up to i never seen one in the trunk on a 1995, 140 body style s430 the sunroof motor should be behind the overhead control panel (ocp) i have seen if some one attempted to repair the rear view mirror from vibrating or being loose and drove a screw into headliner to hold in place they might get lucky and go right through the sunroof motor wiring harness cause a cross short ,short to ground which would blow the fuse when installed or sunroof sw operated .
i need more into in ordered to help you

westcoast, have you really seen the motor on the overhead ceiling of a 140 ??????? Never in my entire servicing period for the 140 have I encountered the sunroof motor designed or placed on the overhead.
thats really strange cause the motor is definitely tooo huge to be located where you say it is. Please share a picture, would love to discover this. thanks.

Bruce, chack your motor located inside the lining of your trunk, by using an Ohm meter for continuity, unplug the current connector with out disassembling the whole unit. Chances are the motor might be shorted. You can always have the motor rewind/repaired, but have to follow the same spec

Thank you for the suggestion, and yes the motor is in the trunk, (I have a S420).
But I still need to know how to remove the motor.
At this point the motor and the cast housing it is part of are hanging on the cable from the sunroof.
I suspect that i need to disconnect the cable at the sunroof but do not know how to access it.
Do you know how? do you have any drawings of the sunroof assembly that you could email to me?
Thanks,
Bruce
