1991 - 190e Lack of power to fuel pump
Hi to one and all - I'm a newbie to the forum from the UK. [8D]
I have a 1991 190e automatic which refuses to go. It just wouldn't start having used it perfectly normally 5 minutes before.
On investigation it appears there's no power getting to the fuel pump and the earth is good. I've tried replacing the fuel pump relay and still nada. I have a healthy spark etc etc. From what I can see there are no blown fuses - although I'm sure I can here a split second fizz when I turn the engine over which would suggest something is arcing - I've looked in the dark but can't see anything obvious.
Any ideas as what to do next would be very well recieved!
TIA

RE: 1991 - 190e Lack of power to fuel pump
Have you tested the fuel pump to see if it is getting power? Have you checked to see if fuel is getting to the engine? If not I would find a fuel pump you know works and swap them out. I am not sure were the pump is on your model, on the W202 it is located next tothe filter, under the rear passenger side of the car. You aid the earth aka Ground is good, how about the power side to the pump ? any rust, corrosion there. As the Bob Dylan song says, The pump don't work, cause the vandel took the handle?
