1990 300SE Does Not Crank

Default 1990 300SE Does Not Crank
This morning the starter would only click. Moved it to Nuetral and somewhat better - but only chattered. Tried to jump the car with a portable battery charger - starter only clicks.

Neutral safety switch problem? Where is it located on the 300SE? I will clean the ground cable as well.

The battery was the culprit. The lights dimmed as I tried to crank the car.
