1985 sl 380 wont start
My 380 has been siting for about 6-7m months battery disconnected ran fine started right up...tried to start it wont start. used gas in carb and fuel start kicks over but dies , as soon as fuel runs out what is the problem ?? how hard is it to change fuel pump and filter??

Hello, Most modern automobiles use a electric fuel pump. They almost all are inside the fuel tank to help keep them cool, however some are external.Further most are powered through a relay. This is a anti theft and crash safety feature. To hold the relay in the on position, usually you must have oil pressure, plus a signal from the ignition key switch. Fairly often a failing key switch is the real issue. You will need to do some basic trouble shooting to determine if in fact your pump is the issue before we can help you Allan
