I haven't been on this site since I sold my '85 300sd, three days ago I bought a 1985 300d, very very nice, 209k miles. The former owner said he thinks he had been using synthetic oil, but couldn't remember (???), I talked to the local Mercedes dealer, they said that if I didn't want to continue using synthetic oil (expensive) do my first oil change with semi-synthetic, then next oil change got to non-synthetic oil. I am about to change the oil (needs a change) using castrol semi-synthetic 10w30. Does this sound like a good idea? I live in South Texas where the winters are not that severe.

This 300d will be my daily driver, going to sell my 1987 560sl, it's a little too small for me now, divorce=wife got the GMC Yukon!! lol
