I have a1982 500sel euro. Car ran fine then stalled a couple of times. I changed wires, plugs, cap, rotor and fuel filter. Car ran fine for a couple days then stalled again and now wont start. I was told that it may be the ignition control box or the fuel pump. The fuel pump does come on and I can smell fuel after trying to start. Any way to check the ignition box? Any advice would help.

 

the procedure for checking the EZL is long and complicated. special adapter needed and oscilloscope needed.

 

Thanks, I think I'll replace the box and see what happens. I found one reasonably priced.
