1971 280sel motor swap?
sup guys im currently restoring a 1971 280sel and it has a motor in it that runs and such but im looking to put a more reliable motor in it.. what are my options? i dont want to get one of those rebuilt motors those things cost 4500+ for my car... i was thinking about putting like an engine from another car in it or somethin but can i do that? thanks for the help

do you have a lot of technical skills concering engine swaps and are you an accomplished mechanic, welder, and know auto electic at a expert level. Do you know how to fabricate, metal for engine mounts, etc. can you made an engine to transmission adapter if you had to or modify ie shorten or lenghten a driveshaft?
If not then don't even attempt an engine swap, especially with a car like mercedes. By the time you did "some other engine" the crate engine will be cheaper. (long block)
