Default 190e vibration problem

hey guys. not new to the post, but finally took the time to register. anyway, the problem at hand is that I have an 87 190e 2.3 that is giving me some problems.

when you start the car, it has a hard shake that occurs when the car is under 900-1000 on the tach. i can turn the idle up so that it doesnt shake in park lol, but thats not fixing the problem. not only that but thats hell on a u joint puttin it in gear at 1000.

one thing I've noticed is that when you put it in gear and the revs drop down, the economy gauge moves over slightly. if my memory serves me right, that just runs of vaccum pressure right? well anyway, this caused me to check every possible place for a vac. leak and I've found nothing. of course i ran over the usual suspects like motor mounts and tranny mounts. the weird thing is that when you are driving and the car is over 1000 rpm its smooth as silk as it should be.

I would really appreciate any ideas on what the problem may be. I was thinking maybe the cold start valve but not sure. any help would be great. Thanks in advance guys and love the site very much. helped me fix some problems with my first 190!

Default RE: 190e vibration problem

Chack the idle speed control valve for proper functiiooning. At idle it could be that valve sticking a little
