"88 190e 2.3. purchased K&N air filter (e-9178). filter does not fit tightly like oem. leaves about 1" gap all the way around the wire mesh oval which is on the underside of the top of the air box. fits tight top to bottom though . K&N says this is the correct filter.will this loose fit create a problem? i know how finicky this car is.any other filter recommendations? thanks for any help.
