I agree with and it's not fair that you're in that situation. You could get aftermarket CATs on your car. Basically, it's a universal CAT that goes inline with your existing exhaust system. You would need to find someone that can install it for you. It's cheaper and it works great!!!

I had the one replaced under 30K on warranty and another has gone bad. But, if you decide to replace it, CATCO makes a better replacement than the OEM for as little as $600. Also, the Cats are not metered so you will not get a check engine light issue. Make sure you look under your car to look at your exhaust configuration. Mine has both cats in a dual pipe config. which made it more expensive. You can buy on line. MB Dealerships will rip you off for this 1 hr repair.
