Help! The little plastic cover button on the AC fan speed switch broke on my 2002 CLK. The dealer says I have to replace the whole switch assembly ($600). There has to be another way. Anybody know where I might find this little piece? Local junkyards have been no help. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you able to post a picture of what you need?

 

No one will probably just sell you one button...not even a junk yard. Check on car-part.com and search for Heater/AC unit.
They are an excellent source for used parts all over the country. You will have to buy the whole unit, but it will be a hell of a lot cheaper than $600. That unit has been around since 96'.
