Default "E" Class & "E-AMG" Axle ratios

OK 1st of all I don't own a Mercedes but I do own a 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona that, thanks to the Mercedes/Chrysler merger of a few years back, has a lot of parts from the "E" class parts bin.

My car was originally equiped W/the 210mm differential that is I am told is intercahgable W/the "E" class series.

That differential had a 2.82 axle ratio.

I have since upgraded to the 215mm differential W/the 3.06 ratio. I have been told that that unit is intercahngeable W/the AMG units.

Now, gettingback to my question. I am working W/an after market gear manufacturer that is intersted in making ring & pinion sets for these cars, both in the 210mm & 215mm size.

Problem is, the computor/TCM, which we lovingly call HAL, has a snit when axle ratios are changed.

It is thought that if we can provide ring & pinion sets in factory ratios, the computer data will be available to change the axle ratio parameters via a plug in tuner.

I have also been lead to believe that a stock "E" classaxle ratio in the neighborhood of 3.26:1 is available in the 210mm diffs & a stock AMG 3.42:1 axle ratio is available for the 215mm units.

Can anyone steer me towards some links that will varify tis information?
