I was wondering if anyone knows what the gear ratios are on the 2004 ML 350? and can it be modified? I owned many many different cars and none of them had gears set as high as the ML, I mean when I am curising on the free way at 75mph engine reving at 2800 rpm and when you hit 80 that sucker is screaming around 3100 rpm I mean if it can be modified to lower ratios it can get much better gas milage, yes I know transmission might have to have to work harder because car mightneed to down shift more often when I want to accelarate or if I am going up a hillbut that's ok.
I mean I am not saying I am gonna get the gears changed but it would be nice to know that option is out there.
