I have an '84 380 SL. I have found the plate on the inside of the hood that provides color info but there are 7 rows of #'s. Not sure which # represents outside color the car. It's a pale yellow and I think the code is 623, but would like to confirm.

 

Yes, 623 is the colour with an H a few spaces to the right. H stands for HELLELFENBEIN (Taxi colour in Germany).
