Exclamation What is this part? [Leaking Diesel]

I have a diesel leak coming from here, but I can't seem to find this part. What is this part? [Leaking Diesel]-ugh.jpg<----------

The hose is NOT leaking.

It seems as if it's a gasket/seal that's come loose or something, but then again, I'm not the smartest on the subject.

model is a 300sdl , 601 engine, year 1986.

Sorry to bother, but bypassing would involve hooking the hose that supplies the fuel thermostat with the hose that receives the fuel to the lift pump, right?
