HELP!!!HELP!!!87 300D!!!DIESEL FUEL LEAKING!
The car is still leaking diesel fuel more than ever ...a MBZmechanic told methe hose someone else put inwas not a "diesel hose" but "fuel hose" is this (little thing) can make anydifference? I need help... the car start very well the only thing is loosing fuel. Can anybody help me???? Thanks
Typically fuel line is rated for both gasoline and diesel fuel use. Have you verified yourself where exactly the fuel is leaking from? If it is just a hose, it should be a relatively easy fix dependingon its location.
Its the smaller hose that goes from the fuel filter to the engine I thing its call "fitted fuel hose" and its 38cm/7mmID. Someone said to change the fuel thermostat or the O-Ring! Where is the O-Ring located? Thanks
On the left side of the engine (from drivers seat), the fuel travels through this little clear in-line fuel filter thru a short black small hose that goes into this metal cylinderical gizmo bolted to the side of the block. It has about 4 other small black flexible hoses connected to it with small hose clamps. The white plastic part that the hose from the in-line fuel filter connects to is loose and leaking diesel. Looks like I need to replace this approx 2" long metal fuel dist. thing. Anybody know what it is, what its called, part number and or what it costs? Any special things I need to know to change it out?Can I bypass thefuel thermostat, how much does it cost and where can I order it?...and if I only change theO-Ring will it work? Thanks much in advance
