What to look for in a 1983 300SD?

Default What to look for in a 1983 300SD?
Im going to an auction to look at a 1983 300SD 2xx.xxx miles. Anything I should be looking for when buying a Mercedes diesel? Im not new to the diesel world I currently own a 98 12 valve dodge (427hp 1006tq) I have also owned two other ctds. Im looking for car to get better mpg and to use when the truck pull season starts. When I saw this car in the paper at an auction Monday I thought why not. Im planning on running #2 and used motor oil in it as well as Bio later on. Anyway that’s how I got here.

Search the diesel thread. This topic has come up several times. However, nobody will recommend burning used motor oil.
