Default Tire question/ suspension

I have a tire that hits the fender on the driver side. It is only the driver side that is does this to. It just recently started happening with the car the wheels have been on for 4 months now and no problem at all, Till now. I put 15 inch wheels on with 205 65 15 tires to help anyone out.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but if you want to ask a question give some detail. What year, model, and how many miles? It's likely because of a worn suspension piece, either a shock, strut, or something's wrong with the SLS system (if it applies to the car you have). Any car should be able to fit 15's under it with no issues

I am sorry, it is a 83 240d with 260,000 miles. It creaks a littleso I went ahead to day and put some kyb shocks on it. It rides better but still creaks. Do you know how to check springs I know with shocks you watch the rebound, but I have no idea where to start with springs.

I think the later model wheels have a wider rim width than the stock wheels. If I remember, the 83 had 5.5 or a 6 inch width. The newer wheels should have the width stamped on them. Most cars turn sharper one way or the other, usually to the left, more leverage. So me thinks your newer wheels are too wide. You can roll the inner fender lip in to provide clearance in some cases. Going from a 14 to a 15 raises the tire into the wheel well at least a 1/2 inch and if the wheel is wider as well, it will rub.
