Tire Size Question
First off.... I did a Search.
Will 245/40/18 tires be a good combo for the front and back of my 1994 c280? If not, what would you recommend? I want to go with a wider tire on the new 18 inch wheels I am purchasing.

RE: Tire Size Question
If it were me I would go 215/35/18 in the front and go 235-35-18 in the rear. If you want it all even all around just go 225/35/18.
If you go to big you are going to rub againest the fenders. And thats not a good sign.

RE: Tire Size Question
Well I don't drive a C class Mercedes but I do know that top notch engineers put that mercedes together and researched and tested the car. Putting 18 inch wheels would just throw off the speedometer and raise the car increasing the aerodynamic drag on the vehicle thus causing you to have worse gas mileage. Sorry it was off topic but I had to say it. Well that's my two cents.

I understand what you are saying with the speedometer, but I went from stock 17 inch wheels on my Impala to 20 inch wheels with no change in the speedometer because i went with a shorter sidewall making the overall diameter of the 20 inch rim and tire, the same size as my stock 17 inch rim and tire.
So, I understand after seeing a C-Class with 235's all around 245's would surely be to wide for the front, but what about 245's in the rear with 225's up front?
Thanks for the replys,
Nick
