Default Repair engine damper/torque strut mount

My wife's 1980 300sd has developed a lot of engine shake. I found that on the drivers side, the small shock-type damper is worn out. I did some searching and found a strut mount kit for over $100. That is for just one side and seems like a lot of money. Has anyone found just the rubber bushing? Thanks.

You may be correct in that they do not do anything but I am sure that MB put these on the vehicle for a reason. The rubber on the drivers side is completely gone. It has to be replaced. I am just looking for an alternative to buying a complete install kit when all I need are the rubber bushings. Do you know where I can find these? Thanks.
