re-attaching the muffler
My husband took off the muffler of our E class diesel mercedes quite easily to weld it together and now has a problem re-connecting it where it "hooks" in under the engine. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks you
No it is perfectly in place but the end where it "fits" in is like a chinese
puzzle. Is there some kind of special twisting to get it in place. It is
the hook up that is the problem not the muffler itself. Thanks so much.

the year is 1998 an E turbo diesel, the muffler angle was not changed as only holes were filled.
The end clamp is 1/2 engaged but the second piece will not clamp on. Possibly a special tool
is needed. It came off very easily. Thanks again

It's a 98 E300 Turbo diesel. The part that's flared is married up perfectly with the rounded part coming out of the exhaust manifold. There is a clamp, half of which is on the exhaust pipe and half of which is on the pipe coming out of the exhaust manifold. It has two tabs that connect the clamp pieces together. After I connect the first tab, I cannot squeeze the unit together enough to connect the second tab. I've tried channel locks and vise grips but no go. Is there a spwcial tool for this?
I have been having a new problem with my 10 year old mercedes.
I get lots of water dripping down onto my left foot when it is raining
out. Even when it is just in the driveway when I get in there is a
pool of water on the floor. Help me! Thank you
