Am new to this forum and MB. My next driver will be a used diesel in either coupe or sedan config. In reading the posts here, do not understand the termonology of 115s, 124s, etc. I assume they to be referring to specif body style or size, but am not familiar with them. Please point me in direction to determine same.
The avoid/buy section was very helpful.
Am posting here as not interested in spark ignition vehicles. Also do all servicing and most repairs on my vehicles. However, when necessary to bore block or rework heads, either farm it out, or enroll in nearby college automotive class allowing me to perform repair.
My preference in vehicle would be forced induction inline 4 or 6, before legislation got cute with the all emissions.

you are correct with the deduction that the w115 w123 notations are chassi codes
