Default mmm wires

hi i am going to pull a good om617 from a 1979 300d turbo. then put it in my jeep.

now i figure im going to need some wiring. now im used to dealing with BMW. the engine harness is pretty much only connected to the engine and one main plug on the fuse box. and the main 35pin to the ecu. is the the 617's harness much like that? is it stand alone or "separate" from say the lighting and the rest of the cars wiring other than ware it mite plug into LIKE a c101 connector for signal start&stop "dont quote me on the c101".

possible to see a pic of a complete harness off the engine? that would be most helpful. then i could post back some question on signal inputs to make the harness and what few electronics on this old diesel function.

also other question. what would i need to do if i just canned the harness. when to a manual boost controller and figured out how to wire or a vacuum switch to turn the engine back off?
