Missing alternator tensioning bolt?
#11
Hey paddo,
I kept forgetting to take the picture, I have a couple of attachments that show the replacement bolt that I installed and the washer and 2 self locking nuts. It works really well, the bolt itself was 40 dollars and the washer and nuts were bought at a hardware store for less than 2 dollars.

There you have it. I don't suppose you'll make the mistake I made the first time I adjusted it - without loosening the nut on ohter end of the pricey bolt.
took a while to figure it out how it works, and bent the bolt and bracket in the process. Made do until eventually I had alternator problems (voltage regulator and possibly diodes) and took the opportunity to straighten it all out again, it's been fine ever since, much easier to adjust than on old US cars.
ON the topic, never buy cheap aftermarket voltage reg's - they are total garbage. Bosch was the only one that worked properly that I tried.
