My 1995 E300 which has always been easy to start is now very hard. I wait for the glow plug lite to turn off, then crank. Cranks easily , will almost but not really start. I suspect glow plugs but my manual does not show their location so I can test them. Another person told me that it is often a fuse that goes out located under the hood (I will check this tonite). Any other suggestions would be helpful Anybody have an engine schematic showing glow plug locations ?

when hard to start try removing your fuel filter and check if you are loosing prime
