guesstime on fuel gage

anybody have a guesstimate (or fact) on how much further you can go when the fuel light comes on?

just wondering

Last thing you want to do is run out of fuel with a diesel. Fuel tank senders are all over the map, and one car can go 20 miles, and another 10.
