I have a 1999 e300 I would like to know how many fuel filters are on this car. I know of the spin tight on the front of the engine .I have 137 thou I like to change all the filters so I dont have any problems down the road . Thank you jimmy

 

There is a Fuel Tank Screen and there is a Primary Filter. I am not 100% sure but I believe in your case the little Primary Filter (pre-filter) is built into the Fuel Filter Housing.
Looking a what a parts seller has if you have the Primary Filter as described you need an O-Ring and the Filter itself has a Rubber Seal on it.

And last there is the Spin-on/Secondary Filter.

You have no Hand Primer like the Older Modes have so be sure to fill up the Spin-on Filter with as much clean Fuel as you can to decrease the amount of Engine Cranking you have to do to clear the System of Air.

If you have an exceptional amount of trouble starting after a filter change loosen the Fuel Injection Hard Lines at the Injectors and crank to bleed the Air out of them and then retighten them.
