how do I prime the fuel system after changing the filters on an 1987 300d?

 

Only lever that moves is the one that says "stop" on it.. Is that it, or am
I missing it?

 

What can be a big help is if you fill the Secondary/Spin-on Fuel Filter with clean Diesel Fuel. That can decrease the amount of cranking you need to do.

If you have managed to get Air between the Fuel Injection Pump and the Injectors in the Fuel Injection Lines/Tubing’s loosening the Line Nuts at the Injectors and crank till you see Fuel come gets rid of the Air fast.

Air in the Fuel Injection Lines compresses a lot and moves only a little and is difficult to get out by Cranking the Engine.
