Default Cost to repair 300d?

More challenges with our son's 1983 300d-turbo.

How do these numbers look from this local foreign car service invoice?

He welcomed me asking around for better prices on parts.

I did send him links from https://mercedessource.com/store/

Thanks for any assistance!

No, he was being polite. Shops HATE when people bring their own parts. You're cutting into their income and making it so they earn little to no money on your job. Its a good way to get slow or sloppy service.

Mercedes$ource is run by a con, he sells used and low quality Chinese copy parts, do not give him any money!

Do not replace engine shocks. They are unnecessary parts and have no function. If your engine shakes you have fuel injection or compression issues.
If you end up needing a steering box, get it from here: http://candmhydraulics.com/

Here is his updated estimate. I'll get the tires elsewhere - anyone have better price sources for the needed parts, please?

Whats wrong with the power steering pump? Its very rare for one to fail on these cars. Usually any problems comes from a dirty filter in the bottom of the reservoir and using "power steering fluid" instead of ATF.

Here's another question ...
The connection between the air filter assembly and the channel to the engine will not secure - is there a trick to make this work?
The air filter assembly also tends to float and rattle some.

There should be a rubber ring inside each end of the plastic elbow.

They are very important. It takes less than 8oz of dust to ruin an engine.

Make sure the air filter bracket isn't cracked and all three mounts are not torn.

Putting a piece of 2" radiator hose between the air filter body and valve cover absorbs vibration and greatly extends the life of the filter mounts and bracket.
