I want to take a 1983 300SD engine and put it in a 1979 300SD. I wanted to verify it will fit.

Does anyone know?

(I want to make sure the engine mounts match up exactly and everything else).

Any thoughts is greatly appreciated!!!

Ok, Question though on the throttle linkages. Does that mean I need to put the throttle linkages from the 1979 on the 1983 engine. Does that mean I need to swap the valve cover? Or does this mean I have to put the 1983 transmission over also. (note: the 1983 transmission failed and I can't use it).

What should I do?
