Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum but not new to diesels I currently have a 97 dodge cummins.

anyway i'm looking into getting a good road car and have a 93 300d in my area for a fair price 215k on the odometer,
I have a few questions,

first, is solving a rough idle, seems to smoke and stumble up to 12-1500 until warm. injectors were replaced as well as the head being rebuilt.

second, what are all the wires on the injection pump controlling is this electronically controlled?

third, what is the throttle body type contraption in the intake air used for?

any input on the year and engine issues would be great

are these the only two things it could be seemed to hunt and stumble but run up to 1200rpm seems to be alright after warm up

I take it this is further part of the EGR system?

 

is there a timer that keeps the glow plugs going after the car has started. the car seems to start very easily but then stumbles after it's going.
