Best diesels for WVO conversion
n4hen how many miles on the 300td?
honestly, I have run both and here's my take. wvo is a pain in the butt in the winter. in the summer, it runs great. I'm running it now on my 83d. I have to add a mix of diesel to it to get it thin enough when it gets cold.
301k have put 20k with the wvo and another 20k before with bio. engine still running well. trans is another story though. Let me clarify, though. I have 2 heat exchangers, 6 way valve, and 17 gallon tank in trunk. oil is 140deg. on cold days when it hits injectors. wouldn't try it without converting. running cold oil without conversion will kill it.
I'm guessing that alternating between fuels helps to a large degree by burning out the additional sludge being deposited by the oil. Also, you should try to increase your oil temp to 180 for the best burn.
