87 300SDL blower motor not blowing
My 87 300SDL Climate Control is not working. The blower fan is not running at low, high speed or auto. The problem started with the blower running for a short while then stop. If I leave it for a few hours then the blower will run again for a while and stop. Now it is all dead. I changed out the Climate Control Unit with another one and it is the same. I opened up blower motor and measured the voltage across the terminals and no voltage. It does not seem to be the blower mal-functioning.
Any idea what else could be wrong? After I removed the glove box panel and press the fan button, I hear some relay sound clicking inside. Am I missing any more electronics in the Automatic Climate Control?
Thanks

RE: 87 300SDL blower motor not blowing
Fixed the blower problem. It was a burnt fuse. The reason it took me so long to find is that it worked intermittently. The fuse was not fully burnt but I intially suspect it was the motor brush. It threw me off track completely. Anyway, I look at the fuse box and it says blower fuse outside the box but it does not say where. I looked high and low and eventually located it on the left of the box with a cover. It is a special fuse, like a piece of flat aluminium. I replace it and I have fresh air again.

RE: 87 300SDL blower motor not blowing
I did pull the Automatic Climate Control out and replaced it. Did not work. Pull the passenger panel out to expose the blower motor, motor tested good. I did a LOT of work but in the end I suspected the fuse because I did not see supply voltage to the blower. It is a 3 wires plug; ground pin, 12V supply pin and a regulating voltage pin for low, high and auto. I can see the regulating pin voltage varies with the speed button pressed but no supply. I looked at the 300SDL schematic 1986 ( not my current year 87 ) and I did see a fuse but it is not listed in the fuse box. It took me a while to locate the sucker. Hope this help other owners.
