'87 300D Head Gasket
I have an coolant leak so I took it to a dealership which told me I have an head Gasket that leaks and wants to charge $2,200 to replace. I am somewhat mechanically inclined and am thinking about doing it myself. Is this a job that should be done by someone that knows the ins and outs of Mercedes? If I do it myself, is there anything I should be aware of?
Does the head itself normally warp? My wife did drive it once with low coolant and said it got hot! I'm not sure how hot it got but am sure that is why the head gasket now leaks. Thanks in advance.
