Default 82 300SD Loud knocking.

First of all, thanks in advance for any responses. They're greatly appreciated.

Background. I have a 1982 SD with a 103K miles on it. I've converted it to run on grease and it's been working great. Bought the car about 5 months ago and have driven a few thousand miles since the conversion.

Today I drove about an hour and right before home (I filled the tank with a 1/2 tank of diesel) I decided to give her a wash. She was driving great beforehand. After an "average" wash where I didn't open the hood I left and it started knocking heavily when I accelerated. It's exhausting a noticeably heavier cloud and heavier stench. I've let the car sit for awhile and restarted. Same happenings.

Thoughts?

See every single previous thread where running on grease has destroyed an engine.

Well, if you don't like that answer, do a compression test and if it comes out good (not likely) convert the car back to diesel, flush all the lines, change the filters, adjust the valves, clean the injectors and then see how it runs.

a diesel is a diesel all the veggie converstion stories ive heard have been horror ones. unless you have benzes to throw away then converting them is not too smart . good luck

Have you tried Jet A-1 fuel with some fuel treatment? Would you know the long term effects?

Has anyone tried this product? http://www.lucasoil.com/products/dis...el%20Treatment Might work for SVO/WVO .
Hope the link works this time.

I was hoping you wouldn't catch me posting this ForcedInduction. I know you're against all these additives.
