Default 300 SD 1992 Diesel Smoking....

OK;

I have a gorgeous 300SD that I had the engine rebuilt in; It was taken out, a valve job was done, new rings were placed, head was milled and the timing chaing changed. It runs spectacularly. I am running local high grade BIODIESEL in it. This issue I have is that IT SMOKES (occasionally). When idling (at around 600) or occasionally when punching the accelerator. The turbo has also been rebuilt.

I love this car but when it smokes, it seems excessive (white smoke- again mostly at idle). I have had it to the dealer and they say that it runs wonderfully; there is no problem with oil loss or oil/coolant cross contamination. No loss of coolant either. They say that diesels smoke and it is normal.

So my question is this; What IS acceptable as to the amount an older Diesel smokes when you know the engine is in good shape? I just can't think that this amount of white smoke, even though only occasionally, is acceptable. Also, It did the same thing on petrol diesel. Any techies interested in answering welcome. Could there be a tuning problem? Thanks in advance.

Ger
