I replaced the spin on fuel filter today and now the car will not start. What can I do to get it started again?

 

You should fill the filter before putting it on especially if yours has a machanical fuel pump. You can just crank it do it in 20 sec intervals so you do not burn up your starter

It is a 83 so would it have a mechanical pump? Also it will not hurt the starter to run it a lot for 20 seconds? I ran it for 8 to 10 but I done it like 40 times will this hurt it? I am going to try ity again tommorow thanks. Is there any other method to get the air out?

 

Thanks guy for all the help. I got it cranked up and running. Is it the same way for the little filter I think it is called the primary. Do you have to prime the crap out of it?

 

No, just replace the see thru filter then start the car. Then fill the canister filter, put in on and again start the car. Dont do both then try to start it.
