I just bought a 1983 Mercedes 240d with 77k original miles and 1 owner. The car starts and runs but seems to push blue smoke out the exhaust both while idling and when accelerating. I havent driven it much but how do I diagnose the problem?

I checked the oil and its clean, the coolant is clean, the air filter is very clean. The car does not leak at all.
