It started with random misfires a couple of years ago. It continued to get worse and most recently ran really ratty! It stalled last week and I was able to get it started again. Took it to a local mechanic who cleaned the injector screens, replaced the fuel filter and fuel lines around the filter. He claimed he got it run again by adding fuel. He claimed he saw a bulletin from MB that sid there were problems with the baffles in the fuel tank. It ran OK coming back from the mechanic and we filled it up with fresh diesel. Yesterday my wife drove it and got about 1 mile before it died. She could not re start it and it got towed home.

lots of white smoke if I can get it going. The mechanic had it for four days and has not solved the problem.
