1987 300D Won't start
I have a 1987 300D and it will start and then die. Yesterday it started and ran but had no power. I change both fuel filters and removed the fuel pump and it seem to be function correctly. But is pressure more important then fuel flow? I don't know waht else to check and help would be GREAT

Many unknowens here. Did your fitlers have water in them? Pull off a line from the injector and turn over checking for fuel. Start out simple do you have fuel to the pump? Pull the feed line let run into a pan check for water. Did you fill the fitler with fuel when installing? With the manual pump it takes a lot of cranking to prime the system and some running to get the air out. Don't forget to give the starter a break. Answer these and post then somebody might be able to answer better

Good questions:
I pulled the line off from the tank at the first filter and it drain in a pail no water. I took off the second canister filter and dump it in a pail with no water. Reattached all the filters and try starting the car. I open the line coming from the second filter to the injector pump and let the air out of the system, when it was flowing fuel I reattached. Still no luck.
Do I need to break the lines at the top of the ijector pump?
Thanks for the help so far

Is there another switch that will stop flow of fuel to the injector
Further investigation shows that fuel makes it to the injector but nothing is coming out of the high pressure side.
I turn it over and when I open the lines low pressure side I get plenty of fuel.
When I open or take off the high presure side no fuel. I check the stop switch and it is held on in the start postion. Is there another switch that will stop flow of fuel to the injector?

Remove the line as it enters the injection pump and look for debris. If you have fuel entering the pump OK but nothing coming out then it's most likely the injection pump. I just replaced filters on mine after low power and stalling and now it's pulling hard as I accelerate. I did have to use a suction pump and primed the fuel filter before I attempted to start it. It still ran for a second or two and then died. I had to crank for a bit to get it to fire again but it fired up.
