Hey guys, been on here a little before. I bought a 77 240D 2 months ago and I love it, the wife says its to slow for her. Found a 1986 190D for sale and wanted an opinion. It has 220k miles, everything looks good in pictures. He says rear windows don't work, and it smokes until warm. Forced Induction, I know your in denver, if you look at boulder CL you'll see it. Maybe you could give me your opinion. What does smoking until warm usually say? Piston rings? Warn cylinders? He wants 1900 bones. What do you think.

I have a 87 190D with 280Km (175,000 Mi)and it too smokes, I suspect valve stem seals but haven't pulled the motor apart yet. Is this one NA or turbo. mine is Na and quite slow. My thoughts are that if it smokes till it warms up then it always smokes somewhat you just can't see it as much. Maybe rings, maybe valve stem seals or if you are real lucky it is fuel from a bad injector but I wouldn't count on it. Cheers Dan
